Hi, ,
That was a great joke. I have something to share even though it's not really a joke it really happened to me.
As you know the end of the school year is coming. I decided it was time to get rid of the prizes in my prize box. Quickly the children snapped up the best prizes, the toys and puzzles. All that was left were a few stickers and a postcard. I asked the students if any they wanted the stickers and they were taken immediatly by one student. I asked if anyone wanted the post card and all of the students hands shot into the air. Sean asked "What is a post card, Teacher?"
I explained that it was for writing a short note and showed the place where the address would go and the letter part. As soon as this was explained each hand lowered acompanied by a groan except Sean who exclaimed "Me Teacher, I want that!" and the post card was handed over to him.
I had forgotten about the postcard until a few days later when I noticed it sitting on my desk. I figured Sean had realized it was not such a great prize and returned it to me. I used it to mark the book I was reading. Several days later when I opened the book and pulled the post card out I saw that there was a note on it addressed to me.
The note read, "Thank you Teacher" and was signed by Sean. I was stunned and at that point recalled Sean asking me how to spell my name a couple of days before. Not one other student had said anything, and honeslty I had not expected them too. But Sean had seen this special opportunity in a post card no one wanted and made it into a treasure I will keep for a very long time.
